Giants’ bats go quiet again! San Francisco fall to Reds 2-1
2018.08.17 – The Giants lost 2-1 as the Reds homered off Giants’ Ray Black to lead off half of the 11th inning. Black pitched a scoreless 10th, joining a quintet of relievers that limited Cincinnati to two hits over 5 2/3 innings. But the Giants’ offense remained mute. Andrew McCutchen and Joe Panik accounted for five of San Francisco’s eight hits.

Hundley’s Epic 9th-inning! Giants down Dodgers 5-2
2018.08.13 – Nick Hundley hit a two-run single in the ninth inning to give the Giants their first lead, and San Francisco rallied for a 5-2 victory on Monday night, handing the Los Angeles Dodgers’ bullpen its fourth consecutive loss.

Rodriguez Two-Hit Gem! Giants beat the Pirates 4-3 and split series
2018.08.12 – Dereck Rodriguez finish a seven innings of one-run ball and only gave up two hits while striking out four. It was his eighth consecutive quality start. Rodríguez picked up his sixth victory as a Giant and lowered his season ERA to a teambest 2.25. Giants split the series with the Pirates and pick up a 4-3 win.

Four innings for Blach – Giants shut out by Pirates 4-0
2018.08.11 – Ty Blach struck out three of the first four Pirates batters and faced the minimum through two innings. Then a leadoff walk and suddenly the Pirates’ dugout were celebrating in route to topping the SF Giants 4-0.

Posey goes 4-for-5 with 3 RBIs! Giants outlast Pirates 13-10
2018.08.10 – Though Friday’s 13-10 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates gave the Giants a much-needed collective triumph, the result didn’t obscure Buster Posey’s individual deeds. Posey, went 4-for-5 with three RBIs. He singled and scored in the first inning, delivered a two-run single in the third and added an RBI single in the fourth.

Bumgarner’s Nightmare Outing – Giants fall 4-3 to the A’s in 11th
2018.07.21 – Madison Bumgarner with a four-walk fifth inning was pulled after walking in two consecutive runs for the first time in his career. Bumgarner set a career-high tonight with six walks. The Giants fall 4-3 to the A’s in the 11th inning at the Oakland Coliseum.

Suarez hits bump – Giants fall to Athletics 6-2
2018.0715 – Giants starter Andrew Suarez began the first three innings strucking out four and only allowed one base-runner from a walk. But in the top of the fourth, the rookie southpaw ran into a hot A’s club on the day before the All-Star break, as the A’s handed Suarez and the Giants a 6-2 loss on Sunday at AT&T Park.

Shark’s short start – Giants take 4-3 loss to the Athletics
2018.07.14 – Jeff Samardzija “The Shark” worked four innings against the A’s, and allowed the leadoff batter to reach base safely in each inning and never could find a proper rhythm. The Giants’ 4-3 loss to the Athletics at AT&T Park was a setback that will tax their pitching staff.

Duggar Leads Charge! Giants beat A’s 7-1 in Battle of the Bay Opener
2018.07.13 – Steven Duggar harmlessly grounded out to the pitcher in his first-bat of Friday’s game. But from that 11-pitch at-bat, in which Duggar fell behind 1-2 and fouled off five pitches, it became evident the leadoff hitter was locked in. The Giants won, 7-1, to capture the first installment of the Bay Bridge Series.

2018.06.29 – Austin Slater had three hits, including two RBI doubles, as the Giants continue their best month in two seasons with a 2-1 victory over Arizona D-backs.

Crawford’s Walk-off Homer! Giants outlast the Rockies 1-0
2018.06.27 – Brandon Crawford’s walk-off homer with one out in the ninth inning launched Harrison Musgrave’s 1-1 pitch on a parabola over the right-field barrier for his ninth home run. The San Francisco Giants outlasted the Colorado Rockies, 1-0 at AT&T.

Bumgarner Dominates! Giants shut down the Padres 3-0
2018.06.21 – Madison Bumgarner pitched eight innings and struck out eight in his best start of the season. He also drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly for his first win of the season, as the San Francisco Giants shut down the San Diego Padres 3-0.

Longoria, Blach leads Giants past Dodgers 4-2
2018.04.29 – The San Francisco Giants (14-14) sent fans home happy with a 4-2 victory over their arch rival Los Angeles Dodgers (12-15). By taking three out of four against the Dodgers, the Giants stand within three games of the division-leading Arizona Diamondbacks.
Stratton pulled on 1 and 1/3 inning – Dodgers stung Giants 15-6
2018.04.28 – Giants’ starter Chris Stratton lasted only 1 and 1/3 innings while yielding six runs. San Franciscos’ manager Bruce Bochy used only two relievers and Pablo Sandoval pitched a 1-2-3 inning to halt the Dodgers. Los Angeles stung San Francisco 15-6 in the first game of day-night doubleheader against the Dodgers.
Shark out on 3 innings – Nationals blast the Giants 15-2
2018.04.25 – Giants’ starter Jeff Samardzija lasted just 3 and 2/3 innings in an ugly 15-2 loss. Buster Posey, Evan Longoria and the Giants’ newest revelation, Mac Williamson, were out of the lineup. The San Francisco’s season-best three-game win streak came to an unceremonious end in a 15-2 loss to the Nationals at AT&T Park.
Cueto on Fire! San Francisco Giants top Halos 4-2 in Los Angeles
2018.04.22 – Johnny Cueto held the Angels to no runs on two hits after carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He lowered his ERA to 0.35 after four starts. Giants top Halos 4-2 in Los Angeles and take first series of 2018.
Winless Holland – Giants drop one to Halos in 4-3 loss
2018.04.21 – Derek Holland gave up four runs on five hits over six innings, as he remained winless with his new club. The Giants’ starter gave up a two-run home run to Albert Pujols in the sixth inning and the Angels went on to a 4-3 victory at Angel Stadium.
Belt’s 10th-inning blast! Giants over D-backs 4-3
2018.04.18 – ARIZONA – Brandon Belt made his 100th career homer a true milestone, delivering it in the 10th inning, to lift the Giants past the D-backs at Chase Field, 4-3. Earlier, Evan Longoria put the Giants ahead with a two-run homer off D-backs starter Robbie Ray in the sixth.
Blach with no-hit four innings – Giants fall to Padres 5-1
2018.04.13 – The Giants are lacking in offense. They have scored one or fewer runs in seven of 13 games, including the 5-1 setback at the hands of the San Diego Padres. San Francisco’s starter Ty Blach, who no-hit San Diego for four innings tried making the game competitive to no avail.
Panik Again! Giants beat Dodgers 1-0
2018.03.30 – Opening Day hero Joe Panik duplicated his homer off Clayton Kershaw by taking Kenley Jansen deep leading off the ninth inning for another stunning 1-0 Giants win over the Dodgers. Johnny Cueto (for seven innings) and Alex Wood (for eight) hooked up in a dazzling duel of scoreless one-hitters.

Panda’s Walk-off Win! Giants over Padres in season finale 5-4
Pablo Sandoval’s journey back to the Giants’ organization wasn’t easy by any stretch. But the third baseman sent the 2017 season off in dramatic fashion on Sunday, launching a walk-off home run to lift the Giants to a victory in the season finale over the Padres, 5-4.
Cain Goes Five Scoreless! Giants get ‘Cain’d’ one last time in 3-2 loss to Padres
The Padres put a damper on Giants starter Matt Cain, who pitched five scoreless frames in his final start. Austin Hedges roped a two-out RBI double over the head of Giants right fielder Hunter Pence and powered San Diego to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Giants.
Posey’s 3 scoring doubles – Giants cruise past Padres 8-0
Buster Posey roped three run-scoring doubles, Brandon Crawford recorded three RBIs to back the right-hander Chris Stratton. The rookie Stratton turned in 6 2/3 strong innings to power the Giants to an 8-0 triumph over the Padres and avoid 100 losses.
Hundley and Pence power the Giants past the D-backs 9-2
Nick Hundley has hit D-backs pitchers all season and continued to do so Monday as he sparked a five-run fourth inning. Pence also hit a solo homer as the Giants topped the D-backs, 9-2, at Chase Field.

Brandon Crawford hit his 14th homer of the season. Giants’ Matt Moore worked a shutout into the seventh inning as the San Francisco Giants shut out the Colorado Rockies 4-0 to win a two game series.

Hunter Pence’s bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the ninth inning lifted the San Francisco Giants to a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Pablo Sandoval hit three RBIs to help the Giants break a four-game losing streak in a 7-2 win. Sandoval launched a high-and-in fastball to left-center for a homer, his first four-bagger from the right side since Aug. 8, 2014.

Jeff Samardzija (The Shark) had a bounce-back start, allowing three runs over eight innings. He threw 106 pitches but took his career-high 14th loss of the year.
Moore Early Trouble – Giants drop series finale to Dodgers
Matt Moore got into early trouble with a mound visit and 32 pitches before the first inning. Second inning errors started with Pence’s drop ball and Sandoval’s on a dropped tag for a swipe attempt on Yasiel Puig’s steal of third. Giants fall to the Dodgers 4-1.
Cueto’s tough 4th allows Dodgers to end skid 5-3
The Dodgers chased Johnny Cueto in a four-run fourth inning that began with No. 8 hitter Chase Utley’s 403-foot home run into McCovey Cove. The Giants had their chance on the 9th with bases loaded, Posey at bat, and Hundley at bat both went down with strikeout.
Hunter Singled and RBIs – Giants sink Dodgers at 2:11 a.m.
Hunter Pence singled home Pablo Sandoval to give the Giants a 7-6 edge. The Giants and Dodgers battled until 2:11 a.m. when San Francisco finally secured an 8-6 win.

Hot Series for Denard Span, the Giants scored two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth, trimming the Rockies’ lead to 7-6. Span continued his hot series, recording RBIs in the eighth. But, Colorado finished pounding out 13 hits to defeat the Giants, 9-6, at Coors Field.

Ty Blach’s outing was strong through five. The Padres provided all the power and excitement in San Diego’s 5-0, series-clinching victory against the San Francisco Giants.

Denard Span had three hits, and Joe Panik got one back with a homer in the eighth. Matt Moore allowed five runs on eight hits over five innings, putting an end to a stretch of three straight impressive starts.

Jeff Samardzija the “Shark” shutout the Padres in a 3-0 victory at Petco Park, the fourth of Samardzija’s career. The Giants jumped on top, 1-0, in the fourth when Brandon Crawford launched his 12th homer of the season. Joe Panik would tack on a two-run insurance shot in the eighth. Giants take the series opener.

The D-backs erupted for nine runs in the eighth inning, completing a three-game series sweep with an 11-0 triumph. Back-to-back-to-back home runs, J.D. Martinez with two home runs, Goldy another home run, and then Daniel Descalso with the solo home run.

Matt Moore posted 7 1/3 innings of two-run ball, allowing one hit over seven innings. Giants notched three runs in the first and added three more over the second and third innings in San Francisco’s 10-2 win over Philadelphia.
Tomlinson’s Great Game – Giants take opener 5-4 over Phillies
Kelby Tomlinson made the defensive play of the game. The Giants’ outfield; Jarrett Parker, Denard Span and Hunter Pence generated most of the offense in a 5-4 victory over the Phillies for the opener of a four-game series.
Cain Halts Stanton – Giants drop series finale in Miami 8-1
The Giants kept Giancarlo Stanton in the ballpark on Wednesday afternoon, but they weren’t able to contain Tomas Telis, who drove in three runs and scored another in the Marlins’ 8-1 victory over the Giants at Marlins Park.

Matt Moore pitched seven innings of two-run ball for San Francisco and struck out a season-high nine. Nationals hit a game-ending grand slam in the 11th inning to beat the Giants 6-2 in the finale of a day-night doubleheader.
10 Ks for Stratton – Giants take first twin-bill opener from Nationals 4-2
Chris Stratton striked-out a career-high 10 in 6 2/3 shutout innings, as the Giants take game one of twin-bill opener versus Nationals 4-2.
Six Frames for Shark – Giants fall to the Nationals 3-1
Joe Panik’s homer not enough – Giants fall to the Nationals 3-1. Jeff Samardzija threw a season-high 120 pitches to get through six innings where he gave up nine hits and three runs with six strikeouts and a walk.
Solid Seven for Bumgarner – Giants top the Cubs 3-1
Madison Bumgarner spun seven solid frames. The Giants recorded their second winning homestand of the season and won back-to-back home series.
Posey Homers – Solid Blach Baffles – Giants beat Cubs 6-3
Buster Posey homer! Ty Blach pitched seven resolute innings and slapped an RBI single for a Giants lead. Blach denied the reigning World Series champions any sustained offense. The Cubs went 1-for-6 off Blach with runners in scoring position. The San Francisco Giants past the Chicago Cubs 6-3 for the win.
Jones 1st MLB Homer – Giants fall to Cubs 5-3
Giants’ rookie Ryder Jones delivered a two-run homer, his first Major League long ball, in the sixth. The Chicago Cubs needed fewer dramatics versus San Francisco, racing to a five-run lead through five innings before holding on for a 5-3 triumph.
Parker Homer! Giants past the D-backs, 6-3 and take series
Jarrett Parker drilled his first home run of the season to pace the Giants past the D-backs, 6-3. He’s playing good defense, and has gone 6-for-13 with seven RBIs and three doubles in three games back from the disabled list. Jeff Samardzija spun another strong start to have the Giants past the D-backs, 6-3 and take the series.

Hunter Pence #8 homers, and Jarrett Parker singled for the first game-winning hit of his career in the 10th inning, a 5-4 walk-off win over the D-backs.
Hard Loss for Bumgarner – Giants’ bats silent in loss to D-backs 2-1
The Giants couldn’t provide enough run support to back starter Madison Bumgarner. San Francisco’s ace fans seven and went seven innings for the second straight start. Brandon Belt, the team leader in homers and extra-base hits, was hit in the helmet by a 79 mph curve ball in the sixth and had to exit the game.
Blach’s Big Homer – On and Off Giants rout A’s 11-2
The Giants turned on the offense. Jarrett Parker doubled in his first at-bat, Brandon Belt notched his 18th homer — matching his career-high mark — and Ty Blach lifted his first career homer for an 11-2 rout of the A’s at AT&T Park.
